How we think about the work
Most of what makes a tiled room succeed is invisible on the day it is finished. The substrate that was corrected instead of covered. The waterproofing that was built as a system and tested before a single tile went on. The layout that was dry-laid and agreed before it was permanent. We plan and price that hidden work explicitly, because it is where the money should go — and where cheap quotes quietly leave it out.
The visible half is judgment: whether the joints align through a doorway, whether a pattern makes its compromise in the right corner, whether an edge is mitred or trimmed, whether the sealant line is straight. Those decisions are made with you, on site, at full size — not assumed from a drawing.
And because materials matter as much as installation, we sell what we install. The shop carries the tile, stone, waterproofing, and setting materials we use in our own projects, with honest guidance on where each one belongs.

Workmanship standards
What we hold every project to
- Substrates are corrected, not covered
- Walls and floors are surveyed for plane and flatness before any tile is ordered. Where they fall outside what the format requires, they are corrected — and the correction appears in the proposal rather than as a surprise.
- Waterproofing is a system, not a product
- Bonded membrane, banded corners, collars at every penetration, and a flange integrated with the drain. Where the assembly allows it, pans are flood-tested before tile goes on.
- Layout is agreed before the first tile
- We dry-lay, mark centre lines, and show you where the cuts will fall. If the pattern has to make a compromise somewhere, you decide where.
- The site is protected and left clean
- Floor protection, dust containment, and a tidy site at the end of each day. The rooms we are not working in should not know we are there.
- Nothing gets covered up quietly
- When something unexpected appears behind a wall, work stops, it gets photographed, and you get the options and the cost implication before anything is closed up.
- The work is documented
- Progress photographs of substrate, waterproofing, and services are taken before they disappear behind the finish, and handed over at completion.
